A New Adventure Awaits

If you had told me three years ago, that in a few short years, I’d move into the perfect country home, only to turn around and sell it, I’d have thought you were nuts.

If you had told me a year ago, that after I had finally found the perfect commercial building, on the main street of our cozy town, that we would put our businesses in it for only one short year, only to sadly close our doors when another opportunity knocked, I would have dismissed your criticisms.

And yet, here we are.

Three years after finally purchasing our beautiful country home, we have sold it. One year after finally opening retail stores, we have closed our doors.

We had a plan in mind.

We had a destination in our sights, and a life we thought we wanted.

Turns out, we couldn’t have been more wrong.

Instead, I am elated to say, we have packed all of our things into tiny boxes, loaded them onto a moving truck and are heading to the most Eastern point we can get; three provinces away.

If that isn’t crazy enough for you, My husband and I had never set foot on the Island, except for the first time we came to look at houses. We packed ourselves and our two dogs into our car and drove straight to the Island (a full two day excursion), looked at three homes, and then after being on the red Island soil for only a matter of hours, turned around and headed home.

But those six hours were all it took. We were hooked. We found a home, on a great big pond, with ten acres of possibilities, and we put in an offer on it before we were even back in our home province.

We knew it would mean selling our home, closing our retail stores and saying goodbye to family members, but we knew in our hearts, it was the right decision.

So here we are, packing our things, on the way to a new province and a new life. Wish us luck!
